Ms. Kimberly (Kim) Cavnar has served in education at all levels from early elementary through university for 32 years; most of those years affiliated with Jesuit schools. She has enjoyed being a classroom teacher above all, and has often been called into leadership roles as lead teacher, department chair, campus minister, director of community service, assistant principal for academics, assistant principal for curriculum and instruction, and director of adult faith formation. Ms. Cavnar has been recognized for her role as a master teacher in Jesuit education and Ignatian spirituality. Committed to excellence in education Ms. Cavnar sets into motion strong curricular foundations, innovative teaching methods and ongoing professional development for the teaching communities she has guided. Her own education includes a BA and MPS from Loyola University of Chicago, four years of doctoral studies in education through Arizona State University, and she joins a principal’s cohort through ASU again this fall.
Ms. Cavnar has been committed to Catholic education as a professional as well as a parent of three grown children all of whom experienced the blessing of Catholic education from kindergarten through high school. Originally from Chicago, Ms. Cavnar and her husband have been married 32 years, and currently reside in north central Phoenix. Raised by two WWII veteran parents Ms. Cavnar and her four siblings all received the privilege of being lovingly guided to make a difference in the world as one’s life vocation, for which she is immensely grateful. |
