Brendan Beggs

Our school counselor, Brendan Beggs has had a private and corporate consulting practice in Phoenix, Mesa, and Scottsdale for nearly 20 years, and has specialized in the integration of Psychology and Christian Spirituality.  He is a product of our diocese (SS. Simon & Jude, Brophy College Prep and Loyola Marymount University) and received a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology in 1991 from the University of Southern California.  He is married to Lisa (Danforth - Christ the King, Xavier College Prep and Loyola Marymount University) and likes to say he’s in the rare 4-3 club (one of 4 boys with 3 of his own).  He is sought out for his work with families and children, and is often the first mental health professional to be called upon when a crisis event impacts employees at nearly every hospital in the valley, many banks, school districts and dozens of other businesses looking for healing following a traumatic event.  His interviews on the subject of children and depression have been televised by local media, and he has been a lead debriefing specialist for aviation disasters, missing persons and other locally and nationally televised traumatic events over the last 15 years.  Brendan’s unique approach to integrating prayer, spirituality, meditation, and family life programs place emphasis on teaching children simplicity, and ways to put abstract Christian principles into everyday practice.  He continues to be passionate about the prevention of violence and aggression in family and school settings.
