Welcome

All shall give as they are able, according to the blessings of the Lord your God that has given you.  Deuteronomy 16:17

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that you will get a sense of the identity and mission of our parish community. St. Francis Xavier Parish, administered by the Jesuit Fathers of the California Province, has been in existence for more than 80 years and is located in the center of metropolitan Phoenix. At its founding, the parish was outside the city limits.

Our beautiful church building was opened in 1959 and seats 1,300 people. More than 5,000 households are registered in the parish and our elementary school has 590 young boys and girls being educated in the Jesuit tradition. The parish is vibrant with 58 ministries supported by paid staff and numerous, generous volunteers.

Evangelization, education, the celebration of the Sacraments, the promotion of justice and service, are of primary concern for us as we strive to live and spread the Gospel. The principles of Ignatian spirituality guide our efforts to bring people closer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Master Plan for our parish and school is in progress. Because of the faith, zeal and sacrifice of so many of our parish and school families, we achieved our initial goal of $6.5 million for Phase A that was completed in December of 2010. Phase B is now complete. (April 2012). It contains the spacious, state of the art library, ten classrooms, technology center and religious education “Atrium”.

The cost of Phase B is $4.5 million dollars; $2,892 million dollars has been raised and a further $1,608 million dollars is needed to complete this phase. As pastor, I ask you to consider how you can help us achieve success in raising the balance of the funds needed for this phase. Your investment in our capital campaign directly benefits the children of our school and those involved in our religious education program. They now enjoy an outstanding educational environment that supports the learning process. To see drawings of the Master Plan please click on the "Etched in Our Hearts" logo located at the top left of this page.

Please consider a pledge to our campaign. Your gift, be it small or large, will benefit the children and also provides you the opportunity to share in the mission of St. Francis Xavier School. On the left hand side of this page there is an icon in red – “Contribute”. This is a way you can make a pledge or a donation on-line without leaving your home. Also, you can contact Kristin Parrack, the Capital Campaign Stewardship Manager (602-212-4522), to discuss other ways of giving be that a cash donation, a pledge or perhaps a donation of stock.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Rev. Daniel J. Sullivan, S.J.

Pastor
