The Ministry for Pastoral Care
" For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me..." Matthew 25:35
Eucharist to the Sick
The mission of this ministry is to mirror God’s presence to our sisters and brothers in the midst of life’s transitions; to provide a Gospel presence and a Eucharistic presence
to the sick, homebound, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Requirements for this ministry are Eucharistic Ministry Training, Safe Environment training.

Bereavement Ministry
Lay Presiders
The Lay Presider contacts the grieving family members to help them plan the funeral vigil. Special readings, prayers, rosary and/or music are decided upon and the Lay Presider celebrates
a short vigil service at the funeral home or church. Training is provided. For more information Please contact Mary Kevin Picton at 602 212-4507.
Funeral Planners
The Funeral Planners contact the grieving family members to help them plan the funeral Mass. They assist the bereaved to select special scripture readings in order to individualize the
celebration for the deceased. Choices for members of the family to be a lector and/or bring up the Eucharistic gifts are decided upon and if there are any other specific needs the family
has. Emphasis is placed on the belief of the Resurrection of the Body and providing the best celebration the parish can offer. Training is provided.
For more information Please contact Mary Kevin Picton at 602 212-4507.
Health Team
Are you a nurse or a doctor. We are looking for nurses and doctors who are able to volunteer for our B/P screenings once a month. If you are interested in becoming involved in this critical
ministry please call Mary Kevin Picton at (602) 212-4507.
Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers Program (ViCaP)
Anyone who is interested in helping the elderly or disabled may volunteer. VICaP recruits volunteers through local partner congregations and from the wider community. Volunteers choose
the service(s) they wish to provide, number of people to serve, and the area of town in which to serve (matching is done by zip code). Because of the flexibility of this program, it is
a great opportunity for working people and for families to help others. To volunteer for this ministry call the Parish Center.
St. Vincent de Paul
This charity provides food, limited medical assistance, showers, clothing, throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area. This extensive help is provided to the homeless and poor families.
Presently, more than 3,500 hundred meals per day are served in the dining areas of the city.
In addition, volunteers of the St. Vincent’s conference of this parish deliver food boxes and bags to families residing in this parish (currently, between 50 to 72 families each
week.) We also give vouchers to clients to secure essential furniture; and subject to sever cash limitations, we try to assist in payment of rent, utility bills and the purchase of medicines.
Since we are required to go in “twos” on home visits, we are often very much in need of additional volunteers to be regular members.
Would you like to volunteer with us? The Parish Center will be happy to put you in contact with a member for more information; or simply come to a conference meeting held every Monday
evening at 7 PM in the Parish Center.
